This single-origin coffee is sourced from smallholder farmers in the Rwenzori Mountains of Uganda, grown at altitudes between 1,200 and 2,000 meters. It features the Nyasaland, SL14, and SL28 varieties and is processed using the traditional natural DRUGAR method. The coffee is roasted dark, offering a bold and expressive flavor profile with notes of dark chocolate, cranberry, and cinnamon, reminiscent of a rich fruit cake.
Rob and Vikki Hodge founded Rave Coffee in Cirencester in 2011. The roastery moved into a renovated building on Phoenix Way in spring 2023, housing two Loring roasters, a 70kg and the original 35kg. They roast to order daily and have accumulated over 24,000 five star reviews. The Independent voted their subscription the Best Overall Coffee Subscription in 2024. Rave is a 1% for the Planet member and has planted over 22,000 trees through a partnership with One Tree Planted. Their range covers blends, single origins, pods, brew bags, cold brew, and green beans for home roasting.
