This Gathaithi AA coffee originates from the Nyeri County in the highlands of Kenya. Produced by the Gathaithi Cooperative, which includes over 1,600 smallholder farmers, the coffee is grown in volcanic soil at high altitudes. It is a washed process coffee featuring a blend of Batian, Ruiru 11, SL28, and SL34 varieties. The flavor profile is characterized by a crisp, juicy acidity with notes of red currant, delicate sencha tea, and sweet, juicy orange.
