Lineage Coffee Roasting

About This Coffee

This coffee is sourced from the Gathaithi factory in the Nyeri region of Kenya, situated at 1,800 meters altitude on red volcanic soil. It is a traditional Kenyan double-washed coffee, processed by smallholder farmers who hand-sort and pulp the cherries before a two-stage fermentation and soak. The AA grade indicates the largest bean size, contributing to its density and flavor concentration. The cup profile features bright limeade acidity balanced by a deep pomegranate sweetness, reflecting the terroir of Nyeri and precise processing.

Lineage Coffee Roasting

Lineage Coffee Roasting was founded in January 2012 by Jarrett and Justine Johnson in Orlando, Florida. The couple started with a retrofitted grill and an ice cream motor powering a 3 kilogram roaster, and within months had upgraded and begun building a reputation for meticulous small lot roasting. By 2015 they were traveling to Guatemala and Colombia to establish direct trade relationships, later expanding those connections into Kenya and Ethiopia. Today Lineage operates three café locations across Orlando, cups and dials in every coffee served, and runs a wholesale program alongside a roasting academy. The hands on approach that began with a homemade setup continues to define the company's identity more than a decade later.
