This single-origin coffee is sourced from the Gathaithi Coffee Factory, part of the Gathaithi Farmers’ Cooperative Society in Nyeri County, Kenya. Situated between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare ranges, the coffee is grown in rich red volcanic soil at high altitudes. The cherries are handpicked, pulped, fermented overnight, washed, and dried on raised beds. This lot offers a clean and vibrant profile, characterized by notes of berries and citrus with a sweet finish.
Joseph Haddad founded this trailblazing roastery in 2012 with an unwavering mission to make quality coffee accessible to everyone. Their philosophy centers on honoring the entire coffee chain from origin farmers to the final cup, employing rigorous research and extensive sourcing to deliver exceptional single origins and blends. Code Black's approach balances innovation with respect for traditional coffee craftsmanship, creating what they aptly describe as coffee "made by humans, for humans."
