About This Coffee

This coffee originates from the Uraga district in the Guji zone of Ethiopia. Grown by approximately 130 smallholder farmers at an altitude of 2,170 meters, the cherries are processed at the Tatesa station using a natural method. The coffee undergoes the 'Five-Seven-Eleven' drying process on raised beds to ensure uniform fermentation and a clean profile. Kaffeekirsche

Kaffeekirsche was founded in 2014 in Berlin Kreuzberg near Adalbertsrasse, beginning a journey that has seen the roastery move and expand multiple times as demand grew. In 2017 the operation relocated to Böckhstrasse alongside a new cafe and bakery, and by February 2022 the main roastery had settled in Tempelhof with an attached cafe, bringing the total to three Berlin locations. All coffee is drum roasted daily, with a focus on single origin Arabica beans sourced from origins including Colombia, where Pink Bourbon from the Cauca region is among the standout lots. Their omni roast philosophy means each coffee is developed to perform across both espresso and filter brewing methods. Signature roasts like the Dark Side Espresso and Gran Galope, known for its full body and lingering sweetness, showcase the range and ambition of their roasting program.
