This coffee is a Catuai lot from Cajamarca, Peru, produced by Ebert Huaman at Finca Artemira. It is processed anaerobically with washing, fermenting for 40 hours in grainpro bags and dried for 10-15 days. The roast is light and the tasting notes include gala apple, peach, cantaloupe, and white florals.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
