This single-origin coffee comes from Shakiso in the Guji area of Oromia, Ethiopia, grown on Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm and managed by Ismael Hassen Aredo and his family. Cultivated at 1,900–2,200 m, the lot is Heirloom variety processed as a Natural (slow-dried). The cup is juicy and complex with tasting notes of stone fruit, blueberry and cocoa, balanced sweetness, and a clear, layered finish; roasted as OMNI for both filter and espresso.
Founded in 2015 by Tobias Stehle and Michael Menrad, District Five operates as Ingolstadt's first specialty coffee roastery. The production facility sits in nearby Manching. The roastery maintains direct relationships with South American producers and holds organic certification.
