This coffee comes from Banko Chelchele village in the Gedeb woreda, Gedeo zone, in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region of Ethiopia. Grown at altitudes between 1900 and 2300 meters above sea level, it is produced by 700 micro farmers at Worka Chelchele. The coffee is a natural process heirloom variety with a cupping score of 87.50. The harvest occurs from October to December, with ripe cherries hand-picked and sun-dried for 2-4 weeks. After drying, cherries rest for several weeks before being hulled and milled. The flavor profile features red plum, blueberry, and yogurt notes, offering a lively, dessert-like cup with jammy red plums, wild blueberries, and a rich, creamy yogurt finish.
