This SL9 lot is from the Chavez Estate in Hatumpampa, Inkawasi, Peru, grown at an elevation of 2145 meters. Produced by Jhenrri Chavez, this coffee is processed using a washed method, involving depulping and 30-35 hours of fermentation. The flavor profile features notes of white peach, honeysuckle, mangosteen, and cantaloupe. It offers a creamy tropical quality with impressive body and texture, balanced by expressive citrus and floral notes. This light roast coffee is noted for its clarity and precision.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
