Love Coffee

About This Coffee

This coffee is an Esperanza variety, an F1 hybrid cross between Sarchimor and a wild Ethiopian variety, grown at the historic Aquiares farm on the slopes of the Turrialba Volcano in Costa Rica at 1200 meters altitude. The coffee undergoes a unique 'Super Natural' process involving a 24-hour drying phase to seal the cherries, followed by 72 hours of fermentation in plastic bags and a final 5-day mechanical drying period. The flavor profile features notes of honeydew melon, papaya, and rum raisin.

Love Coffee

Daniel and Peter have been working in specialty coffee since the early 2000s and founded Love Coffee in Lund in 2009. For the first six years, the operation was roastery only, before a coffee bar opened in central Lund in autumn 2015. They roast on a 25 kilo Diedrich drum roaster, their third machine and always an American built Diedrich, which allows 100 percent manual control over every profile. Each bag is packed by hand within 30 minutes of roasting, and every week the team runs sensory analysis on the previous week's output to keep profiles tight. Love Coffee now supplies over 50 cafes, restaurants, and offices and delivers personally to local clients each week. Sources include farms in Ethiopia, Costa Rica, and the Cerrado Mineiro region of Brazil, with selections rotating seasonally. A quote painted outside the cafe captures the ethos: Filter Coffee not People.
