Roast level: Medium-lightTasting notes: Butterscotch, fudge brownie, grapefruitSingle Origin: West, Karongi district, Rwanda Grown in Western Rwanda, this single origin coffee is grown with impeccable care from a select group of highly-skilled women producers. The medium-light roast is full of subtle nuances, with a subtle butterscotch, a rich brownie flavor, and a hint of grapefruit citrus. We love this medium-bodied coffee in a range of brewers, notably as a single origin espresso.
Stephanie Welter Krause founded Swelter Coffee Roasters in 2020, originally based in El Cerrito, California, before relocating operations to Tailwind Roasting, a co roastery facility in Chicago. Swelter sources coffee that is women produced or women led throughout the supply chain, working with suppliers including Artisan Coffee Imports, Mighty Peace Coffee, Bean Voyage, and a family farm called Santa Marta in Guatemala. All coffee is roasted to order in small batches to minimize waste. The business is woman owned and operates under the principle of coffee by women, for everyone.
