This coffee originates from the Bensa Gatta Farm in Shantawene, Ethiopia at 2100m altitude. It is a single origin, washed processed (though some references suggest natural, the product name confirms washed) Arabica coffee, grown under shade in volcanic soil. Flavors include nectarine, bergamot, and blueberry with a fruity acidity and silky mouthfeel. The roast is tailored for filter brewing with a balanced acidity and sweetness.
Originally established in 2002 by founders Sascha Spittel and Robert Stock as Tres Cabezas and rebranded to 19grams in 2018, this Berlin-based roastery has been a pioneer in bringing specialty coffee to Germany when the movement was barely recognized in the country.
