This is a high-intervention washed coffee from Peru, grown on Las Etiopes farm in Jaén, Cajamarca. It uses Ethiopian landraces and JARC lines sourced from Jimma, Sidama, and Yirgacheffe, with elevations around 1950–2050 MASL. The cup profile is bright with lemon, floral notes, and a buttery, brioche-like finish; tasting notes include lemon curd, peach iced tea, dried apricot, and lemongrass. Process is traditional washed with density separation.
Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
