This coffee is from the Finca Buenos Aires farm in Nueva Segovia, northern Nicaragua, specifically from the mountain region around Mozonte. The farm is managed by Olman Valladarez and has been operated by his family for over 60 years, earning Cup of Excellence awards. The coffee is grown at 1,200 to 1,500 meters altitude. The red Caturra variety is processed using the washed method, which includes flotation sorting, depulping, 15-24 hours of dry fermentation, washing to remove mucilage, and approximately 12 days of patio drying. The coffee features flavor notes of milk chocolate, dried fruits, and orange, with a clear and balanced profile combining pleasant sweetness with fine fruit notes and soft structure.
Founded in 2015 by Tobias Stehle and Michael Menrad, District Five operates as Ingolstadt's first specialty coffee roastery. The production facility sits in nearby Manching. The roastery maintains direct relationships with South American producers and holds organic certification.
