A washed Gesha coffee from Peru's El Huabo region in San Ignacio, Jaén, grown at 1,710 meters altitude by producer Maximiliano Garcia on his Garmas farm. The beans underwent 20 hours of wet fermentation and were dried on raised beds for 20-30 days. This light roast offers vibrant white florals and layered complexity with juicy Asian pear sweetness, bright citrusy clementine notes, and a delicate black tea finish as it cools.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
