This coffee is a washed process selection from the Chelbesa Washing Station in the Gedeb micro-region of Ethiopia. Grown at altitudes between 1900 and 2200 meters, it consists of Wolisho and Dega landraces alongside JARC cultivars. The flavor profile features aromatics of lemon shortbread, heather honey, and ripe pear. In the cup, it is sticky and sweet with notes of dried apricot, comice pear, and honeydew melon, supported by a base of sweet lemon and osmanthus iced tea, with soft floral hints of elderflower and dried jasmine.
Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
