This single-origin coffee is sourced from the Rumudamo area in Arbegona Woreda, Ethiopia, at an elevation of 2,200 to 2,400 meters above sea level. Cultivated by 600 smallholder producers, the coffee is processed as a natural at the Rumudamo station, where cherries are dried on raised beds for 16 to 20 days. This high-altitude cultivation and careful drying process contribute to a complex flavor profile characterized by notes of berries, chocolate, citrus, and sweetness, with a nutty undertone.
Joseph Haddad founded this trailblazing roastery in 2012 with an unwavering mission to make quality coffee accessible to everyone. Their philosophy centers on honoring the entire coffee chain from origin farmers to the final cup, employing rigorous research and extensive sourcing to deliver exceptional single origins and blends. Code Black's approach balances innovation with respect for traditional coffee craftsmanship, creating what they aptly describe as coffee "made by humans, for humans."
