About This Coffee

This single-origin coffee from Wate washing station in West Guji, Ethiopia is processed using anaerobic natural fermentation—an uncommon technique in Ethiopia. Grown at high altitude (2200-2400 meters) by smallholder farmers in Wate Musaka and Wate Gogoka villages, this microlot features the Kurume variety, selected for overripe cherries rich in sugar. The coffee earned 5th place at the 2021 Ethiopian Cup of Excellence. Flavor notes include grape, blueberry jam, tropical fruit, passion fruit, mango, peach, and bergamot with high sweetness and a floral finish.
