This Ecuadorian single-origin coffee comes from Finca Maputo in the Pichincha/Napo region. It is a Traditional Honey processed lot featuring SL-28, grown at 1400-1600 MASL. The cup offers sweet, fruity notes with raspberry jam, blood orange acidity, and chocolatey sweetness, finishing with hints of cherry and hibiscus as it cools. Processing includes a 24-hour underwater fermentation, pulping with zero mucilage removal, raised-bed drying, and final moisture stabilization.
Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
