This single-origin coffee is from Costa Rica, sourced from Finca Las Mercedes in Tarrazu, San Marcos. It is a natural processed Villa Sarchi varietal with a light roast. The coffee features a vibrant and complex profile with tasting notes of tropical fruits, passion fruit, and wine-like characteristics, complemented by a high acidity (pH 4.8).
Volcanica Coffee began in 2004 when Costa Rican-born Maurice Contreras started importing richly flavored beans from volcanic regions right out of his garage. What began as a side passion soon grew into a family-run specialty roaster, roasting on demand in Atlanta and sending each batch out within a day. Their approach is simple, unyielding: showcase terroir-driven, exotic single-origin beans from volcanic soils, roast them with care, and ship only when they’re at their freshest.
