Far removed from large-scale production, coffee here is cultivated organically and traditionally, following methods passed down through generations. The isolation of the region has helped preserve both the cultural identity of the community and a slower, more intentional approach to coffee farming. Preserving the Typica Legacy Produced by Oliverio Villafaña and the Comunidad de Nabusimake, this coffee is grown between 1,800 and 2,000 metres above sea level and is made entirely from Typica — one of the oldest coffee varieties in Colombia. Often considered a historic foundation of Colombian coffee, Typica is celebrated for its elegance, clarity, and refined sweetness. In Nabusimake, its cultivation feels like preserving a living piece of coffee history, connecting today’s cup to generations of traditional coffee growing in the Sierra Nevada. After leaving his territory to study coffee professionally, Oliverio returned home with the goal of strengthening sustainable coffee farming practices while protecting the traditions inherited from his community and ancestors. In the Cup Washed processing and the unique terroir of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta create a clean and balanced cup with delicate floral notes of roses layered alongside chocolate, almonds, caramel, and honey sweetness. Smooth, elegant, and comforting, this coffee reflects both the purity of the Typica variety and the deep cultural roots of the people who cultivate it.
