This coffee is a Red Bourbon variety from the Rubirizi Hill in the Butanyerera Province of Burundi, grown at an altitude of 1750 to 1800 meters. It is a traditionally washed coffee processed at the Bukeye Washing Station. The flavor profile features aromatics of black tea, lemon, and honey, with notes of dark summer berries like blackcurrant and wild brambles, plum, chamomile, milk chocolate, and a sweet-savoury hint of ripe tomato.

Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
