About This Coffee

This is a single-origin Burundi coffee from Giku hill (Gikungere, Butaganzwa, Kayanza Province). It comes from 150 smallholder farmers delivering cherry to Ninga CWS (Long Miles Coffee Project) and is processed as Traditional Natural. Tasting notes describe big stewed fruit aromatics (berry compôte, cola, lime) and in-cup notes of strawberry fruit leather, dried apricots, dates, milk chocolate-coated raisins, and honey, with evolving spicy tea notes as it cools.

Scenery Coffee Roasters

Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
