About This Coffee

This naturally processed single origin coffee comes from Mwangoka Farm and the adjoining Mwangoka AMCOS cooperative in the highlands of Mbeya in southern Tanzania. Grown at elevations between 1,450 and 1,850 meters above sea level, it features Bourbon and Compact varieties. The coffee offers a vibrant and complex cup with bright strawberry, juicy white grape, and orange notes, balanced by cane sugar sweetness and a tea-like finish. It is medium roasted and processed at Mwangoka Farm Processing Center.

Black Arrows Coffee

Daniel and Nikole Zamudio co founded Black Arrows Coffee in 2015, starting with a small cafe in California before relocating to Washington state and shifting to an online roasting and wholesale model. They now roast in small batches from Auburn, Washington, and opened their first Seattle retail location in Belltown in 2024. Sourcing spans Latin America and East Africa, with offerings like single origins from Nariño in Colombia and Yirgacheffe in Ethiopia alongside house blends. The operation reflects Nikole's Mexican heritage in touches like a homemade Mexican mocha syrup and Día de Muertos celebrations. Community runs through the core of the project: regular public cuppings, a recently launched barista school, and monthly coffee raves that combine live DJ sets with specialty coffee in what has become one of Seattle's more distinctive gathering formats.
