This Pink Bourbon coffee is sourced from Calima, Colombia, at an elevation of 1,700 meters. It is a washed and fermented coffee that features a medium body and a light-medium roast profile. The flavor profile is characterized by notes of strawberries and cream, as well as milk chocolate. This variety is known for its elegant floral aromas, bright acidity, and remarkable sweetness, resulting from meticulous hand selection of the pink cherries during harvest.
Uncommon Coffee started as a cafe in Saugatuck, Michigan in 1994, founded by Guy Darienzo and Stephen Keye. In 2021, after 27 years under the original owners, the business was acquired by Bruno Nobre and Mauricio DaSilva, both from multi generational coffee farming families in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. They had previously supplied beans to Uncommon as partner farmers, making the transition from grower to roaster a natural one. The roastery now serves over 200 businesses across the Midwest. Uncommon is farmer owned and minority owned, and operates with a goal of being landfill free, using BPI certified compostable cups and sleeves throughout.
