This coffee is a single-origin Arabica from Peru, grown in the Jaén region (Cajamarca) at 1400–1950 meters. It is processed using the washed method and offers Bourbon, Catimor, and Caturra varietals. The cupping notes highlight Milk Chocolate, Red Fruits, and Caramel with moderate acidity and sweetness.
Al-Gharb Coffee Roasters started in 2019 when Chantell and Henning opened the Algarve's first specialty coffee roastery in Albufeira. Henning uses a fluid bed roaster, a specialized piece of equipment that suspends beans on hot air rather than tumbling them in a drum. The result is remarkably even roasting and clean flavor profiles. Al-Gharb roasts lighter than is common in Portugal to preserve the bean's natural characteristics. They source only traceable, sustainable micro-lots, working directly with producers to ensure fair pricing while minimizing environmental impact.
