Aptly named 'paradise', the village centre is atop a small mountain with beautiful vistas in every direction, sitting at 2000masl. Producers in this village mostly grow caturra, bourbon and catimor, mixed together, and the farms are located around the village centre and between 1800 and 2050 meters above sea-level.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
