Scenery Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This coffee is from Edwin Herrera Ocampo's Tarraga farm in Colca, Yanatile, Calca, Cusco, Peru, grown at 1950 meters altitude. The coffee features the SL9 variety, locally known as "Inca Gesha," a cultivar originally selected at Kenya's Scott Laboratories in the 1930s. It is processed using an anoxic washed method where ripe cherries are floated, de-pulped, and dry fermented in sealed air-locked barrels for 36 hours before washing, then shade-dried on raised beds over 18 days. The coffee exhibits deep floral aromatics of coffee blossom and night blooming jasmine, with notes of buddha's hand citron zest, wildflower honey, white peach, comice pear, bergamot, lemongrass, meyer lemon, and yuzu, with a buttery body and citrus-driven acidity.

Scenery Coffee Roasters

Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
