This USDA Organic Peru Coffee is sourced from various smallholder farms in the Chanchamayo region at high altitudes in the South American Andes and Amazon River basin. It is a washed coffee with mechanical drying, medium roast, and is characterized by a complex, full body with low acidity. Flavor notes include lemongrass, plum, and nougat.
Volcanica Coffee began in 2004 when Costa Rican-born Maurice Contreras started importing richly flavored beans from volcanic regions right out of his garage. What began as a side passion soon grew into a family-run specialty roaster, roasting on demand in Atlanta and sending each batch out within a day. Their approach is simple, unyielding: showcase terroir-driven, exotic single-origin beans from volcanic soils, roast them with care, and ship only when they’re at their freshest.
