The washed coffee features Arusha, Blue Mountain, and Bourbon varieties. The flavor profile includes a chocolate base with notes of cocoa, honey, light stone fruit, red fruit, and spicy nuances. It is a well-rounded, sweet coffee with good body and medium-to-high acidity. The coffee has an SCA cupping score of 86.5.

Al-Gharb Coffee Roasters started in 2019 when Chantell and Henning opened the Algarve's first specialty coffee roastery in Albufeira. Henning uses a fluid bed roaster, a specialized piece of equipment that suspends beans on hot air rather than tumbling them in a drum. The result is remarkably even roasting and clean flavor profiles. Al-Gharb roasts lighter than is common in Portugal to preserve the bean's natural characteristics. They source only traceable, sustainable micro-lots, working directly with producers to ensure fair pricing while minimizing environmental impact.
