This coffee is sourced from Kongo Coffee Limited in the Simbu Province highlands of Papua New Guinea, grown at altitudes between 1300-1600 meters. The Typica varietal is processed using the traditional washed method and dried using mechanical driers, raised beds, or tarpaulins stretched under the sun. The coffee exhibits notes of maple syrup, raisin, malt, blackberry, grape, cardamom, nutmeg, and chocolate. It is described as winey and full-bodied, making it a strong choice for espresso. Kongo Coffee oversees approximately 7200 tonnes of green coffee per year from multiple smallholder producers and provides funding for building development, schools, and educational scholarships to growing communities.
