This coffee is a single-origin Pacamara variety from the Patio Bonito farm in Colombia, grown at an altitude of 1700 meters. It is a washed process coffee that offers a flavor profile featuring notes of green grape and apple. This omni-roast coffee is suitable for various brewing methods.
Kenny and Justin founded Coborn Coffee after a conversation in an East London pub on Coborn Road, incorporating the company in 2022. The roastery operates from Tyssen Street in Hackney as a micro roasting operation with a pointed sourcing principle: every coffee comes from a named female producer or a majority women owned farm. The decision reflects the reality that women make up the bulk of the coffee production labor force globally yet own a disproportionately small share of farms. Justin, self titled Head of Mischief, brings an intentionally joyful energy to the project. The goal is to pay farmers fairly while keeping specialty coffee accessible to the local community rather than pricing it as a luxury product.
