La Senda Natural Anaerobic Geisha

Rose Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This Geisha variety coffee is grown at Finca La Senda in the Acatenango region of Guatemala. The coffee is processed using a natural method, where ripe cherries are fermented with Champagne yeast in sealed tanks before being patio-dried with frequent turning. This process results in a clean, dense bean with a flavor profile featuring notes of plum, red wine, and sweet citrus in the finish.

Rose Coffee Roasters

Rose Coffee Roasters was founded in 2022 in Zurich by Matt Winton, the 2021 World Brewers Cup Champion, together with Frederic Brunner. Matt's background spans aircraft engineering in Australia and years of competition at the highest level of specialty coffee. The team, which includes Sierra Yeo (2022 UK Brewers Cup Champion), roasts exclusively on Stronghold electric roasters powered by 100% renewable electricity. Every batch is roasted to order, with a deliberate focus on brightness, sweetness, and flavor. Rose sources top end specialty lots through direct relationships with farmers in Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, China, and Indonesia. The name represents a duality Matt finds in great coffee: something simple and familiar on the surface, yet layered and complex underneath. It is a small, independent roastery with no shortcuts and no cheap blends.
