This coffee is sourced from smallholders in the hills surrounding the Karambi Washing Station in Nyamasheke, Rwanda. It is a traditional washed Bourbon variety that offers a compelling expression of Rwandan terroir. The cup is characterized by clarity, vibrancy, and balance, with an added layer of sweetness. Tasting notes include dried cranberry, red tea, and dark honey.
Phil Goodlaxson founded Corvus Coffee Roasters in 2010 in Denver, Colorado, starting with a small roaster in his garage before scaling up. The roastery now operates multiple retail locations across the Denver metro area and roasts well over 100,000 pounds of coffee annually. Corvus prioritizes direct trade relationships with farmers, many spanning over a decade, and holds more Cup of Excellence coffees and microlots than any other roaster in the Denver area. The company is a finalist in Roast Magazine's 2026 Roaster of the Year awards in the Macro Roaster category. Sustainability runs through the operation, from eco friendly roasting practices and recyclable packaging to a Farmer Focus Program and commitment to gender equity at origin.
