This coffee is produced by the Axola Cooperative in the community of Petatan, Guatemala. The cooperative was founded in 1989 and has grown to 150 members. This specific lot is certified "Con Manos de Mujer" (With a Woman's Hands), produced by 43 women farmers who are part of the cooperative. The certification celebrates coffees produced by women farmers and is part of the cooperative's mission to reduce economic risks for women in coffee production, improve women's access to formal education, prevent violence against women, and promote women's leadership and rights in the community.
