This Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee is from the Gedeo Zone at 7500 ft altitude. It is washed processed and roasted to a medium-light level. The flavor profile highlights bright citrus and berry notes including lemon, blueberry, and blackberry.
Volcanica Coffee began in 2004 when Costa Rican-born Maurice Contreras started importing richly flavored beans from volcanic regions right out of his garage. What began as a side passion soon grew into a family-run specialty roaster, roasting on demand in Atlanta and sending each batch out within a day. Their approach is simple, unyielding: showcase terroir-driven, exotic single-origin beans from volcanic soils, roast them with care, and ship only when they’re at their freshest.
