About This Coffee

This coffee is sourced from the Worka washing station in the Gedeo zone of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. Grown on small garden-size plots beneath indigenous shade trees, the coffee benefits from fertile red-brown soils and high elevation. The cherries are hand-sorted and floated before undergoing wet fermentation for 24–48 hours. The beans are then dried on raised African beds for 10–14 days with constant turning. This process results in a cup profile featuring notes of dark cherry and honey.

Lineage Coffee Roasting

Lineage Coffee Roasting was founded in January 2012 by Jarrett and Justine Johnson in Orlando, Florida. The couple started with a retrofitted grill and an ice cream motor powering a 3 kilogram roaster, and within months had upgraded and begun building a reputation for meticulous small lot roasting. By 2015 they were traveling to Guatemala and Colombia to establish direct trade relationships, later expanding those connections into Kenya and Ethiopia. Today Lineage operates three café locations across Orlando, cups and dials in every coffee served, and runs a wholesale program alongside a roasting academy. The hands on approach that began with a homemade setup continues to define the company's identity more than a decade later.
