This Ethiopia Megadu Static Cherry Anoxic Natural 25/26 is a ground-breaking lot processed with a static cherry approach and anoxic fermentation. Originates from Megadu, Shakisso Woreda, Guji, Ethiopia. Grown at 2000-2200 meters above sea level. Fermented for 96 hours in anoxic conditions after a 24-hour pre-dry, then dried on raised beds with shade control. Variety is Wild Guji Megadu (local landrace) with JARC 74112/74158. Tasting notes include blueberry, strawberry, pineapple aromatics, with orange Gewürztraminer-like florality and marmalade finish.
Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
