This washed Ethiopian coffee is grown by 560 smallholder farmers in the Limu Woreda region of Oromia at an altitude of 1500-1900 meters. The coffee is processed at a central washing station where cherries are depulped, fermented in cement tanks for 24 hours, washed, and sun-dried on raised beds. It features a bright and refreshing profile with tasting notes of zesty lime, juicy apricot, and soft caramel, offering a smooth and elegant cup suitable for both filter and espresso brewing.
Hard Lines started as a small Aeropress pop up bar serving filter coffee in Cardiff and grew over several years into one of Wales's best known specialty roasters. The roastery operates out of Gwaelod y Garth, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, using two Loring eco friendly roasters: an S35 Kestrel and an S15 Falcon. They run three locations in the Cardiff area, including a café in Penylan inspired by Italian neighbourhood coffee bars. The offering rotates with seasonal fresh crop arrivals, and the brand's distinctive smiley face identity was developed with designer Cadilane.
