This washed coffee is produced by the Bayter family at the El Vergel Estate in Fresno, Tolima, Colombia, at an altitude of 1,450 meters. It is a blend of Caturra, Colombia, and Castillo varieties. The coffee offers a clean, sweet, and vibrant profile with distinct tasting notes of chocolate, orange, and a subtle hazelnut finish. It is processed with a 24-hour fermentation followed by drying on beds and mechanical drying, with a 25-day stabilization period.
Originally established in 2002 by founders Sascha Spittel and Robert Stock as Tres Cabezas and rebranded to 19grams in 2018, this Berlin-based roastery has been a pioneer in bringing specialty coffee to Germany when the movement was barely recognized in the country.
