El Vergel is a washed coffee from the El Vergel Estate in Fresno, Tolima, Colombia, grown by the Bayter family at 1,450 meters altitude. This coffee is a blend of Caturra, Colombia, and Castillo varieties. It features a flavor profile characterized by chocolate, sugarcane, orange, and hazelnut notes. It is a full-bodied, balanced coffee with a syrupy mouthfeel, suitable for both espresso and milk-based drinks.
Originally established in 2002 by founders Sascha Spittel and Robert Stock as Tres Cabezas and rebranded to 19grams in 2018, this Berlin-based roastery has been a pioneer in bringing specialty coffee to Germany when the movement was barely recognized in the country.
