El Nevado is a Colombian coffee sourced from the Santa Maria and Pitalito regions of Huila. Grown in volcanic ash soil near the Nevado del Huila volcano at an altitude between 1,500 and 1,950 meters, this coffee is a blend of Colombia, Caturra, and Castillo varieties. It is processed using the fully washed method, resulting in a coffee that reflects the unique terroir of the Colombian highlands.
Based in Rye, New Hampshire but rooted in Colombian heritage, La Mulita was founded by Medellin native Max Pruna who discovered specialty coffee through George Howell in 2015. The roastery exclusively focuses on Colombian single origins from small farms between 2 to 5 acres, paying farmers three times the standard rate for quality beans scoring 84 points and above. Named after the mules that transport coffee cherries down Colombian mountains, they travel annually to Colombia to maintain direct relationships with producers and roast in small batches to ensure exceptional freshness. Won WMUR Viewers Choice Best Coffee in NH 2021.
