This Caturra decaf comes from Finca Nogales in Pitalito, Huila, Colombia, specifically from the Arrayán lot at 1770 meters altitude. The farm is managed by Oscar Hernández and features around 6,000 Caturra trees positioned to avoid harsh midday sun while catching afternoon light. The coffee undergoes careful picking, flotation, 24-hour fermentation, washing, and sun-drying on raised beds. Decaffeination uses the "mosto" method, a natural solvent derived from coffee pulp or husk, involving hot water extraction followed by a 24-hour rest and final wash. The coffee offers red grape and lychee flavor notes with a creamy, round mouthfeel.
