This coffee is a Gesha variety from Bambito Estate, located in the Cerro Punta region of Chiriquí, Panama, at an altitude of 1750 meters. It is a washed coffee, processed by depulping and washing on the same day, followed by a 36-hour rest, a second wash, and drying on African beds. The flavor profile features prominent floral notes of white lily, complemented by sweet citron, white peach, and fleshy pink dragonfruit. This light roast offers a juicy, creamy texture with well-defined acidity.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
