This decaffeinated espresso blend originates from Huila, Colombia at 1900 meters altitude. It is a single origin blend of Castillo, Caturra, Colombia, and Bourbon varieties, processed using the washed method and decaffeinated with Ethyl Acetate. The flavor profile includes notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar, and ripe fig, with a medium-dark to dark roast typical for classic Italian espresso.
Originally established in 2002 by founders Sascha Spittel and Robert Stock as Tres Cabezas and rebranded to 19grams in 2018, this Berlin-based roastery has been a pioneer in bringing specialty coffee to Germany when the movement was barely recognized in the country.
