This naturally processed coffee is produced by Urilser Oliveira at La Fila farm, located in the Huabal district of the Cajamarca region in Peru. Grown at an altitude of 1700-1900 meters, this Catuai variety lot is manually harvested and fermented for 5-8 hours before drying. The cup profile features notes of plum and grapes, complemented by a brown sugar sweetness and a black tea body.
Pharmacie Coffee Roasters was founded by Rick Curtis, who spent over five years running specialty coffee shops in Brighton and Hove before opening the roastery in Lewes, East Sussex, in 2021. The name was inspired by a 1970s French pharmacie sign Rick kept behind his couch and the "drugs" signage at Stumptown in Portland, which had shaped his coffee thinking. The move to Lewes came at the suggestion of Danny Tapper from Beak Brewery, who pointed Rick to an old warehouse at the Cliffe Industrial Estate. Rick roasts on a Giesen W15 and also offers a co roasting service, hiring out the equipment to other coffee professionals. The space hosts a seven day brew bar, social bike rides, live music, art exhibitions, and training sessions.
