This is Bocca's first blend and remains a favorite, combining coffees from Ethiopia and El Salvador. The Ethiopian component comes from the Guji region, while the El Salvador coffee features Bourbon and Pacas varieties from producers Haile and CafeNor. The blend is washed processed and offers a complex flavor profile with notes of date, caramel, and citrus. It is described as dark and robust, suitable for both espresso and filter brewing methods.
Bocca is one of the pioneers of the specialty coffee movement in the Netherlands, founded by two brothers. They were among the first to focus on direct trade and to roast coffee with a lighter, more nuanced style. Their philosophy is rooted in quality, sustainability, and a deep respect for the entire coffee chain, from the farmer to the final cup.
