About This Coffee

This coffee is a Bourbon variety grown at the Utengule Coffee Estate in the Mbeya region of the Rift Valley, Tanzania, at an altitude of 1400 meters. It is a fully washed coffee harvested between May and August. The cup profile is characterized by a spicy and pleasantly fruity flavor with a full body. The coffee is grown in organic and mineral-rich soil formed by volcanic activity.

Kaffeerösterei 13/15 is a specialty coffee roaster in the canton of Obwalden in central Switzerland, with its roastery in Sachseln and a coffee bar in nearby Sarnen. It has been running since 2015 and is led by its two co-founders, Susanne Gruss and Sarah Bürgi, with Sarah heading the roasting side. They roast gently on a drum roaster, using green coffee from Brazil, Guatemala, Honduras, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sumatra, Java, India, and Nepal. They put as much weight on ecological growing and the producers' working conditions as on the quality of the green coffee itself.
