This natural processed coffee comes from the Kindeng Dry Mill in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea. It is a blend of coffee from approximately 1500 smallholder farmers in the Kindeng and Arufa municipalities, grown at altitudes between 1520 and 1770 meters. The coffee consists of Arusha, Bourbon, and Typica varieties. It features a flavor profile characterized by notes of dark chocolate, tropical fruit, and rum.
Founded by wedding photographers Ivana and Marko, Kava Family began with a single derelict space on Hvar island transformed into cafe Kava 37 before expanding to Split's mainland market. Their team includes Q Grader and coffee buyer Tobias Berg, who sources directly from Latin American origins after extensive travel through producing regions. The brand's visual identity reflects Hvar's landscape—green for vegetation, yellow for Mediterranean houses, blue for the Adriatic—creating a distinctly Croatian coffee aesthetic focused on community building and quality sourcing.
