This single-origin coffee comes from the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. Made from 100% organic Arabica beans and roasted to a medium level, it features tasting notes of dark chocolate, molasses, blackberry, and Earl Grey tea. The coffee has a silky-medium body, low acidity, and a clean finish.
Blind Dog Coffee was founded in 2007 by Mark Berry in Gardnerville, Nevada. Mark developed cancer as a young child that ultimately threatened his eyesight, and by age 49 he became legally blind, ending a 30 year career and prompting him to learn professional coffee roasting. The roastery uses 100% USDA Certified Organic beans with a GMO free, no additives guarantee, and sources ethically in support of fair labour practices. A portion of all proceeds goes to the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation, reflecting Mark's personal connection to childhood cancer. The business operates a roastery headquarters in Gardnerville alongside a coffee shop and café in nearby Minden.
